Welcome
Middlewich Primary School is situated in attractive grounds and we encourage pupils to be aware of the fact that we are an Eco-School, one of a small number of schools in the country to have achieved this title. For more information on our
Eco-School status, please have a look at the Eco Award page.
Introduction
Middlewich Primary School came into existence on 1st September 1999 following the amalgamation of Middlewich Infant and Junior Schools.
Children now benefit from a consistent approach to teaching to ensure progression in learning throughout their primary education.
Our Aims
We aim to provide an education that enables all children to fulfil their highest potential academically, creatively and socially.
In order to achieve these aims, the school creates a happy atmosphere within an environment that is secure and caring for children. Everyone is valued. Success, whether it is academic, artistic, sporting or social, is recognised and celebrated
It is important that young children develop a positive attitude towards learning; to ensure that this happens, we give our pupils opportunities to achieve success in their academic work and all subjects of the curriculum are taught in an interesting and stimulating manner.
It is also essential that children learn to become self-confident and to respect others. Older pupils are encouraged to have a caring attitude towards younger children attending the school. Children are given opportunities to work together in groups and understand that everyone has a right to be able to express his or her opinions.
Activities outside the classroom
Music lessons are available with specialist teachers and we have an increasing number of after school and lunch time clubs; including:
percussion, music theory, French, German, football, cricket, netball, running, athletics, craft, technology, chess and first aid.
Every class has at least one school visit each year (for example to Chester Zoo or Tatton Park) and to a pantomime at Christmas.
Children in Year 6 have an opportunity to go to the Boratten Park Activity Centre (PGL) to try quad biking, abseiling, climbing, zip wire and many more activities.
